Abbey Place provides a range of services for up to 78 elderly people who require nursing and dementia care.
Welcome to Larchwood We offer first class care for the elderly on a permanent or respite basis, delivered by highly trained professionals in lovely comfortable surroundings. Our philosophy is simple; we want everyone to enjoy life to the full. We never forget that all our residents are individuals and we treat them with dignity, privacy and respect while offering freedom of choice and as much independence as possible. Friends and family are welcome at any time. Hot drinks and snacks are always available and guests are invited to share a meal with residents. Our cook prepares three nutritious meals a day and the menu changes regularly to reflect seasonal produce. Special diets are catered for. Residents have freedom to choose what to do and when. There is plenty going and our activities coordinator puts together a full programme which is adapted to suit the needs and wishes of our residents. Activities include quizzes, sing-alongs, reminiscence therapy, indoor games, art and craft, baking and wherever possible, trips out and about. I’d love to show you around the home. Mar 1 2013 The staff were brilliant. On the down side, they had to spend far too much time sorting out the residents laundry, a system to tag clothing was never introduced, pity as it would have given them more time to do other things. The home prided its self on the food with a varied and healthy menu choice and provides a hairdresser, manicures, chiropody and a varied entertainment programme. The coffee bar in the grounds is shut, shame as it was a great place to go when visiting.
