The Depperhaugh is a 30-bed nursing home situated in the countryside with large rooms and scenic views, run by the Manager Alison Fallowfield. They are very proud to have recently been awarded the national Gold Standard Framework Award for excellence in caregiving. The house has two spacious lounges, one with a television and DVD player for our favourite musicals, and on a quieter sensory room with predominently classical and melodic music playing. They have a pretty conservatory, full of plants grown by residents, where they hold some of the afternoon activities, or just sit and watch the birds - they put out niger seeds to attract the colourful little finches, and also have daily visits from a wide selection of huge pheasants. There are daily fresh meals cooked on the premises with a varied menu. Where residents need assistance with their food, thought, time and attention is given to residents& dignity and enjoyment. They have been nominated for a GEM award for food and meal time practices and have regular visits from podiatrists, opticians and massage therapists. They do cater for respite care when needed, if beds are available. |
