Abbotsfield Residential Care Home provides accommodation and personal care for up to 30 older people and people who have dementia. The home is a large period property, set in its own grounds, which has been adapted for its present use. Accommodation is provided on the ground and first floor of the building. There is a main stair lift and two smaller chair lifts linking the accommodation on the ground and upper floors. The home has a range of equipment to assist people who live there.

Feb 23 2016 In my opinion the nursing staff and management are fantastic. I would have faith that the management would deal with any concerns. I myself do not have any grave concerns at this current time, and if I did i know I could approach senior staff. I have no reason to be concerned about activities or food provided. I have noticed an improvement in the cleanliness of the home recently, which is great. I would mention, that there is, in my opinion a notable difference between the practice of nursing/experienced staff in comparison to staff member who have different roles, one of which has lesser responsibilities. I do find the last three reviews questionable - as they have been placed on here days apart, following the first review. There is no need, as mentioned the nursing staff are fantastic. The CQC advises that there is need for improvement - I am sure the management of the establishment are working through this.

Feb 1 2016 As a regular visitor to Abbotsfield over several years I have always found the surroundings clean, bright, homely and welcoming. A friend of mine who has been a resident there for around 20 years always appears happy, clean, well fed and clothed, and generally well cared for. The staff are friendly and very caring, mainly long serving, and I believe the management make great efforts to assist staff in gaining professional qualifications. I heartily recommend this establishment.
Original Comment Report...Abbotsfield Residential Care HomeBy: Cath Rating:.. Jan 31 2016 My father has been in abbotsfield for over 8 month and in this time he has come out leaps and bounds. The staff are extremely nice and very good with him and nothing is to much trouble, his room is always clean same with his washing what is always put away in the cupboards. He took a few weeks to settle but now he's here he's very happy with the food care and his new friends he has made while having dinner with them. My overall view is 5* I would recommend to everyone
