Henrietta House

Henrietta House and their staff are more than just staff at the home where our mother has lived for nearly 2 years, they are like extended family. The care and tenderness they show their residents are beyond compare. Our mother has Dementia and it was devastating to our family, but with the help and unending care from the staff we are learning to cope. She seems very happy in her own little world. Which has given me such great peace of mind. When there has been any sort of medical problems, the staff have been right on top of her medical care, whether calling out the doctor or in such cases as calling the paramedics and immediately contacting us. Again, peace of mind. The activities for the residents are endless, and always have something fun going on to entertain the residents and the families!!! They are such a lovely group of heartwarming people. The food for the residents is fabulous and the Cook staff are wonderful, when my mothers appetite wasn't very good, they would always whip up her favorite ice cream, which always put a smile on her face. Watching the staff interacting with the residents is very special seeing how tender and caring they are. I would Highly recommend this facility to anyone who unsure of where to place their loved ones. All I can say is Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart.

It's a difficult time for any son, to come to terms with an ageing parent. When your mother has been such a vibrant and outgoing personality it is harder still. When choices need to be made in a subject that you know little or nothing about what is needed is professional and caring advice. This is exactly what my brother and I received from the team at Henrietta House. From our very first meeting it was obvious that the entire team are focused on taking care of your loved ones. Ensuring that you are involved with all day to day care choices for Mum. We had looked at other care homes, some with newer and more expansive facilities, but at this difficult time we felt that Henrietta House felt more like a home than some of these clinical facilities and as this would be such a change for Mum this seemed the best option. As the weeks passed we witnessed the decline in our Mothers condition, but with the help and support of the team at Henrietta House we managed. During Mum's final days all of the staff rallied to help in any way they could, ensuring that Mum was as comfortable as possible. That care and consideration extended to both my brother and I as we dealt with the final conclusion of our Mothers stay. I can unreservedly recommend Henrietta house as they could not have done more for my Mum and my family it was has been a very difficult time. All of the staff from management to the cleaners have been so helpful and considerate.

My mother has been a resident at Henrietta House for over 3 years. She initially went for respite care following a fall but it quickly became evident that she was no longer able to live at home due to a worsening of her dementia. Henrietta House is not a large purpose built home with a vast number of residents but a victorian house which has been converted to a care home. It is this fact that makes it feel like home for the residents rather than a Home. There are 2 lounges for the residents and a dining room where those residents that are able can dine on the excellent food that is prepared freshly every day. There is a lovely garden where I can sit with my mother when the weather permits. There are regular activities for the residents and visits by a singer and musicians. However a care home can only be as good as the staff and in this respect Henrietta House is outstanding. The whole team is dedicated to giving the residents the best care possible and there is a very low turnover of staff. My mother is always treated with dignity and compassion. I feel that we were very lucky that my mother went to Henrietta House and we have the peace of mind in knowing that she is safe and loved and will receive the best care possible.
