The Marbrook Centre

I was referred to The Marbook Centre after falling ill with Guillain - Barre Syndrome which left me unable to walk or carry out many of the daily tasks which are taken for granted. Upon arrival I received a very warm & friendly welcome & tour of the building making me feel quite at home. The home provides good sized en-suite single rooms with TVs, wet room shower & WC. There are several larger TVs in the cinema room and lounge rooms with access to Netflix & Fire TV Stick. There are weekly arts & craft sessions for those that wish to take part along with outdoor gardening activities. The location of the home is good for access to the road network being adjacent to the A1 & with a decent sized car park, Residents are allocated to a carer each day. The physio team provide care plans tailored to each residents specific needs to get them back to, or as close to full recovery as possible depending upon each persons circumstances. A very high standard of catering is provided- with differing menu options for those that find it difficult to chew/swallow; food is prepared on site- which is refreshing having spent time eating steamed meals in hospital. The home is kept very clean by the housekeeping team - who also provide a great laundry service. There is a 'bistro' area adjacent to reception which provides tea, coffee, biscuits & cakes for both residents & visitors & provides an area to sit & relax. An on site psychologist provides emotional & mental support I find it difficult to find fault with any of the facilities & services provided
