Vale Lodge is a very caring home.
Where there is always a warm welcome.
The wonderful staff are thoughtful and kind.
Mum is safe and well looked after, which is such a wonderful feeling of mind.
In their mini bus they go out to many interesting places and travel many miles.
Although Mum does forget the trips, you can see in the newsletter photo's her big happy smiles.
Must not forget Scampy (resident dog) who loves his tummy tickled and such a lovely character is he.
From me to all the staff for all you do.
I would like to say a huge big "thank you" |

Mum has been in the home for 3 years now, prior to this she had been deteriorating both mentally and self caring at an alarming rate following dads death. Finding Vale lodge was the saviour, she is now scrupulously attended to by a superb staff that keep mum so very well despite her dementia. It is quite remarkable the standard of well being and hygiene the home achieves considering the problems care of this calibre demands.
Two members of staff have gone far beyond the normal status quo one would expect to realise at the home, providing regular own mini bus trips out and about Plymouth, ensuring an interesting, amusing and safe outing for residents. Having their own cook gives everyone at the home a healthy, varied diet within a pleasant dining room atmosphere.
The main point with Vale lodge accommodation is that it is not, repeat, not the larger more clinical type home commonly associated as a residential home......it is of a size that affords the title 'cosy 'which in turn is so much better for mum; she has a nice bright room well heated during the winter and perfect for her needs to be alone when needed or she is able to join other residents in the main lounge whenever she wants. Regular entertainment is provided here with singers, musicians and activity events. with a Xmas party to which relatives are encouraged to attend and prove very entertaining.
In context, if you are looking for a home that provides all this and more, look no further Vale lodge epitomises the word care and mum could be in no better place. |

My Mum has been a resident at Vale Lodge now for 10 years and myself and my family have nothing but praise and appreciation for all staff and management. The care and attention is excellent and nothing is too much trouble for them.
My Mum was 90 years old this year and Vale Lodge actively assisted with a party for her and the residents. They also suggested inviting extended family as well as close family members. The party was a great success and the whole family commented on the happy and warm feeling of the home so I think that says it all about Vale Loge. |
