My mother Betty died in Oct 2011 at the age of 100. She spent the last 14 years of her life at Abbeyfield, Bognor. For the first 12 of those years she lived relatively independently in a bed-sitter type room , with her meals provided by the care home. When she became frail at the age of 98 she moved into more sheltered accommodation where she received 24 hour assistance.
Throughout her stay at Abbeyfield, the standard of her care was outstanding. She was looked after by a dedicated team who were friendly and supportive, and she always spoke highly of her carers and seemed happy. She had lived in Bognor all her life and chose to move into Abbeyfield on the recommendation of others who had been there before her.
My sister, wife and I would strongly recommend Abbeyfield to anyone who is considering moving into a care home in the Bognor area, or who is investigating a move for a relative or friend.
As a non profit making organisation we found that the fees were very reasonable compared to other homes that we considered. |
