At Wellesley Lodge we aim to provide the best care for elderly with dementia in a comfortable, caring and safe environment. Our person-centred care approach ensures that residents are respected as an individual and treated with dignity. Our experienced members of staff know that developing an in-depth understanding of our dementia residents can create a better quality of life for them. All of our staff undertakes training in caring for people with dementia. We strive to ensure our service reflects best practice and learning in dementia care. Comments noted by the inspector when speaking to residents were: ‘We spoke with three people who used the service. One person said "It a lovely place to live, the girls are marvellous." Another told us "The food is first class, I am well looked after." Most people appeared relaxed and content and we observed that staff quickly picked up on any sign of distress or discomfort. Care and support was planned and delivered in a way that was intended to ensure people safety and welfare. We spoke with three people who used the service and who were able to share some of their experiences of their care. They said they felt well cared for. One person said "The staff are so kind." Another person told us "You don&t want for anything here. I am very happy." |
