My father was already a happy and settled member of the TreCare homes group, but as his needs increased, he relocated to another home within the group which offered nursing facilities and could address his increasing needs.
The transition was nothing short of remarkable. The Manager of Trefula spent three hours talking with my father and me and we were left feeling so positive about his transition.
He has spent 15 months at Trefula and is entering his final weeks of his precious life.
Our family has been so comforted by the quality of care our father has received during his time at Trefula. Staff are Angels, working so well in ensuring all residents feel respected and special. He has loved his time here and has enjoyed the quality of care.
As his health declines and he receives palliative care, the support and genuine love for my father has been humbling. Normalising life is crucial; humour, compassion and consideration of individual needs is their underwritten ethos.
I cannot support the generosity of spirit, the dedication, the joy in every special moment and the important laughter that is everywhere in this beautiful home. It is always 'work in progress', a home that leads with it's heart.
if you are considering this home for a loved one, please, please do not be swayed by any inspection comments. What matters is the big heart, the open and loving environment and the contentment that prevails.
Our father will soon end his life in their care. It has been an emotional time and we could not have been more supported as we face this difficult time. Bless them all! |

My relative has been here for four years. During that time, the staff have been unfailingly respectful and very caring, and I have had the opportunity to witness numerous interactions between staff and residents. There is a real family feel about this place and I feel listened to and cared for as a family member too. The nurses and carers are very good at communicating with me, either by telephone or whenever I visit and seem concerned to take my views into account. The home is now undergoing a programme of modernisation and refurbishment; it was a little jaded around the edges and the facilities are noticeably improved. I am very grateful to have found somewhere like Trefula. No one wants to undergo the indignities of older age, but I would actively recommend this establishment to others. A big thank you to everyone at Trefula. |

My husband has vascular dementia and is deteriorating quite rapidly. He has lots of problems with personal care. He has to have 3 staff to deal with these issues at any one time. The carers are attentive, kind and good humoured in a very difficult situation. There is staff available at all times to discuss his care with me and to make my visits as easy as possible. The home is just about to set up a Family Support Group to help us deal with our grief etc. Each patient has a dedicated nurse who monitors his medication and general health and who alerts the GP if there is need. There is a large building programme ongoing at the moment because of the demand for places. The manager and admin staff are always easily available. There is a creative plan in place to make the home as appropriate as is possible for the patients. I feel this home has a very forward looking manager who always has the best interest of the patients and their comfort in mind when planning the future. |
