At High Peak, we provide 24 hour care for older people with Nursing or Palliative care needs. This is done through tailored care plans to suit the individual&s needs, all within friendly and comfortable surroundings. We are the only care home in the region to be awarded a Commend by the Gold Standards Framework - an accrediting body which looks to improve the End of Life Care for residents of care homes.
The home offers a safe, comfortable and relaxing environment; we provide care that is of the highest standard and is tailored to meet individuals& needs, wishes and choices. Our trained nurses have many years experience caring for the elderly and they are supported by a longstanding team of dedicated care and support staff.&
High Peak can best be described as a home from home. We always seek to enable people to maintain lifestyles that are as similar as possible to those they enjoyed before coming to us. We encourage regular interaction with the local community, including contact with friends, family and local groups.&
A varied activities programme is run by our activities co-ordinator who is assisted by care staff and other volunteers. Our regular in-house activities include bingo, board games, reminiscence, baking, exercises, singing around the piano, arts and crafts, massage, manicures and pedicures in fact anything and everything. We even have our own Victorian style sweet shop in house. The home&s minibus is also available for outings, theatre visits, picnics, shopping and the like.& Nicola, our activities co-ordinator, is one of European Care&s dementia champions and is pioneering the latest best practice in dementia care through reminiscence activities and use of memory boxes.
Meals are usually served in one of our two dining rooms, however room service is also available for those who prefer their privacy. The home has a protected mealtimes policy to ensure meals can be enjoyed uninterrupted. Drinks and snacks are readily available. |
