Riccall House Care Home

The staff at Riccall House are simply amazing! It's never easy placing your loved one in a care home but from the second I stepped inside I knew it was perfect for mum. It's just a lovely normal family house with extra bedrooms and as far as my mum's concerned it's her house! My mum has a lovely spacious bedroom overlooking the garden which is perfect because she's always loved her garden, she frequently sweeps the grounds outside and pulls up the weeds and thoroughly enjoyed planting the hanging baskets in summer! Mum has thrived since she has been there because she receives exceptional love and care 24 hours a day 7 days a week, which is exactly what my wonderful mum deserves! . I can spend quality time with my mum now when I visit her because I know that all her other needs are been met by the staff. We've sunbathed and picnicked in the garden, on our own and with other residents we've sat on the sofa in her lovely room and eaten chocolates and looked at photo albums and laughed together. We've been out for Christmas dinner with other residents and staff and also had a wonderful Christmas party at Riccall House with a visit from Santa and some live music from a local singer which mum and I danced to for hours! In fact mum said to me that she was glad I had to go to work because she needed a sleep because I'd worn her out with all the dancing!! Mum's still fairly active and likes to busy herself by helping the staff tidy up and sometimes she even helps in the kitchen with the baking and occasionally she's been out with a member of staff in the car to do some shopping! These are just some of the reasons that make Riccall House a special place. When you have to place a loved one in care it's a very upsetting and stressful time for everyone but the staff made the transition so much easier because as soon as I met them I knew they really cared for all their residents and their families and that nothing was too much trouble, they have been there for me too supporting me and reassuring me Management and every member of staff at Riccall House are exceptional and I can not thank them enough for what they do for my mum. Reading some reports recently in local news papers about failing care homes in the region I would suggest they ask these people for advice on how to run a care home efficiently and lovingly because they've clearly got it spot on.
