My son spent about 6weeks at elmsmead, during the day in the week, and every other weekend for respite, whilst we were told at times his behaviour was challenging,it was never really elaborated on,and we were led to believe they were coping, however as I understand he had a bad respite stay last weekend and a difficult transition on way home on the Monday, subsequently we had a phone call from our social worker to say due to his challenging behaviour, elmsmead will only be having him until Friday and then no more, nothing.we weren't even given abit more notice or offered that they have him in day, atleast until we've made some enquirers about anew placement for him,but no 3 days notice and we now have our son home with nothing, whilst I will thank them for having him for two weeks whilst I recovered from an op,and even then not much feedback about behavioural issues,we do feel let down.your website states you deal wth severe challenging behaviour? |

My grandson spent around six weeks with them, after being told there staff can manage challenging behaviour, he had spent a few weeks at Woodside in Mine head, also Voyage, but they could not manage him. Anyway after six weeks at Elmsmead they can't either, he now has no placement. He went there Monday to Friday day time, and every other weekend to give his parents a break, so now they don't have a break! |
