Fulford Care and Nursing Home

My Mum was sent here for six weeks following a fall and a replace hip. On arrival we struggled to get in, no one on reception and buzzer didn’t work. We finally entered but no one knew where she was! We finally found her room. Whenever we wAnted an update we couldn’t find anyone. She was often in a darkened room with no lights or TV on. Poor medicines management. Little stimulation. Once she went to a new care home she came back to life.

First impression as you walk in some one at the desk and a few people in the office ,and nobody acknowledges you at all ,certainly lacking in people skills . I will say the care staff are very pleasant and friendly but don't have the time to do there job properly . you call out to them when you need something and they say they don't have the time and they will be back ,and your lucky if they do . Many a time they forget to come and take you down for dinner as you are unable to take yourself down . and then bring you up a sandwich when they realise ,not good enough . The food is okay but portions are not ,,why is it when your older you are not suppose to have a appetite.and tea time you are brought the smallest piece of cake I've ever seen but not on a plate in a tissue (Very impressed with how small some one can cut cake) When I worked in a nursing home The manager would go around interacting with the patients, but she was never seen at all . Very disappointed .
