Sheffield Crisis House

Wow what can I say absolutely bloody marvellous. I stayed here for 5 nights and it's saved my life I really can't put into words how much I appreciated being a guest here. My way of describing the whole experience was that it was like being in the womb. Safe Warm Loving Caring A kindness that I've never experienced before from all the wonderful staff and the other guests The house is warm bright and welcoming just like the staff Absolutely nothing was too much for them they were there 24hours a day.They allowed me to be totally involved in my time there and decide for myself what my needs were.Theres no one telling you what to do and how to do it.No judgment no criticism just genuine caring kind staff .They're very experienced and know how to actively listen to you ....oh what a relief .to be soo free to talk. It's self catering but there's plenty of tea,coffee and other supplies including fab herbs growing for you to use. The garden oh my god what a tranquil delightful place to just sit and be.A place to totally chill out and chat to others who are feeling the same as you are or have been. Thank you thank you crisis House and everyone in it xxxxxx

I stayed at the crisis house for the maximum stay (at the time) for a week 3 years ago this month. It was the best thing for me at the time, I was suffering from depression and had been into A&E beforehand. I cannot praise this service enough, the staff were excellent, really relatable and non-judgmental, there was nothing I felt I couldn't tell them at any time of the day or night. They really make sure that everyone is getting the best out of the place, the staff valued our opinions on how the service was run and they all had very good knowledge of the disorders we were all suffering from. The decor was open and light, the rooms were big and spacious - just what someone like me needed at the time. Thanks to the staff and the support I recieved at the crisis house, I was able to finally open up about a lot of things I had been holding on to and began my journey of getting out of the dark hole I was in. More crisis houses should open up around the country - it's a good in-between place to go to if you don't feel safe enough at home but not quite bad enough to be admitted into hospital.

I staid here when I was suffering with mental health problems it is very clean and the staff where there 24 hours a day to support me .Nothing was to much trouble for them and didn't matter what time off day I needed to talk they always made time for me I got more support off the staff there than I did the actual crisis team and I think they need to be more people like them who work there to support you they made me feel very welcome and helped me so much
