On behalf of all our family I would like to say again how much we all appreciated your staff's caring and professional approach to mum and the sensitivity they showed to us through what was a difficult time for all of our family. Please pass our warmest of thanks to all the staff. They made mum's last weeks as comfortable as possible and we were so glad she spent her last days with you at the Glen. |

The Glen looked after mum after she'd been in hospital following a bad fall and it was decided that she could no longer manage at home on her own. From the day I phoned to enquire about if they had room they were fantastic, liaising with the hospital and she was safely moved in 4 days later.
The care she received was excellent at all times. The staff always had time both for her and her family and friends, making us welcome and keeping us informed as her health declined. They coped well with her challenging diet requirements, being both coeliac and diabetic, and she always said how good the food was!
She enjoyed many of the activities on offer which also helped her to integrate with the other residents.
Although mum was only at The Glen for a short time I am so pleased that she was able to spend her final months in such a happy and caring environment and would fully recommend The Glen to everyone. |

Both my parents went into this home voluntarily in June 2013. It had become increasingly difficult for me to care for them myself even with outside help from "Bluebird" and district nurses who were both excellent. In the run up to this I was seriously dreading looking for a home for them and choosing the wrong one. Talking to a friend of mine he reminded me that his mother had been in The Glen for two years and he couldn't really fault it. I was living with my parents by this time. When I rang The Glen the sister I spoke to said they had a double room free. I couldn't believe it and went to see the place straight away. A lovely "home from home" and not an institution. Very clean with no "smells" I met all the staff on duty and decided then and there that I wouldnt do any better and had found the right place and booked my parents in. I have not been disappointed. Both I and my parents are extremely satisfied with the level of care given by the excellent and I believe, hand picked staff. All food is homemade by the excellent kitchen staff and special requirements catered for. The matron is extremely approachable and is always willing to chat about individual residents requirements. All other staff are willing and very pleasant and nothing is too much trouble. The owners make regular visits and take time to talk to residents. My parents, who have all their mental faculties intact say its no different in my absence and I have NO reason to doubt this. It has been an enormous relief to me to know that I chose well and my parents are happy there. I would recommend The Glen without hesitation. |
