The Shared Lives Scheme is managed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and supports carers across the whole of the East Riding area. The scheme offers long term arrangements and short breaks. Once approved, carers provide accommodation, care and support for adults within their (the carers) own homes. Carers support vulnerable adults; the majority of people who use the service have a learning disability and are aged 18-65 years.
