Kinmel Lodge Dementia Care Home admitted overdosing my Dad 10 times the dose he should have had, twice a day for a week. My Dad had Dementia and was mobile - he loved our dancing and sing songs that we had on a weekly basis … he loved his walks along the promenade - as did we! His life changed dramatically after the overdose - he became almost comatose and a bedsore developed on his heel which was life changing and he never walked again - he died seven weeks later…we are heartbroken at not being able to grieve and celebrate his life…. We naively trusted Kinmel Lodge to care for our Dad.....the impact this had on us as a family through making the decision to send him there - no words can cover this! He fought to the bitter end… my Dad died 7 weeks after the overdose - this haunts us! ?? To add even more insult to the care my poor Dad received- Kinmel Lodge have sent an invoice for the time my Dad was overdosed and whilst the coroner is still investigating my Dad’s death!
