Almost sixty years ago my family registered at this Clinic, how lucky were we. Over the years Doctors have retired, some have moved on but still Oakleigh Park has remained at the top of their game. As a family we have always received fantastic care and attention from all those who practice there now and their predecessors , who established this remarkable work ethos. The Clinic Second to None ! |

I went to see a GP today, having of course previously called for an appointment. The doctor was nice and helpful, however the clinic’s receptionist, who I’ve spoken to, was just appallingly unprofessional, and I had to submit a formal complaint. Waiting to hear back currently. That is what I wrote, (having done it in the clinic immediately at the event), which explains what happened:
‘(Name not allowed)being a receptionist, I have contacted her on a few occasions asking for a dr’s appointment. Each time she has provided very bad and unpleasant people skills, and manner of phone conversation. On the very recent occasion, when I phoned for an appointment, she kept repeatedly saying over the phone, “you are mumbling, you are mumbling “, however somehow managed to understand me. When I arrived at the clinic later, for my appointment , I asked this receptionist in person, “ Do you understand me now? Am I mumbling now?” She kept laughing, and saying- “yes, you were mumbling .“ I told her that her manners on the phone are not nice, & whether I should make an official complaint . She, while laughing, said: “Yes, go for it”, reached for the form, gave it to me, while laughing, & said: “Make sure you write my name with two Rs... take a sit darling “. I said- “I’m not your “darling “, she replied laughing - “no, you are definitely not”. I asked for her surname, and she answered, laughing: “I don’t have a surname”.
Could this lady be cautioned for her appalling people skills.’
[at this point I intended to finish my complaint off, but it wasn’t the end of the matter, so I added the following:]
‘Just at the moment of me writing this, she came up to me, touched my hand (without being invited to do so), and told me: “you have no people skills whatsoever“.’
As I said, the complaint has just been freshly submitted; will update at the outcome. The form was given to another receptionist, who informed me that the clinic’s manager will get back to me within, or in about, a week.
I have seen a few other negative reviews regarding this particular lady. It appears this lady is simply not able to be working as a receptionist in a clinic due to a massive lack of basic people skills.
Hopefully the manager of the clinic will take this into consideration. |

I have been a patient at this surgery since approximately 1981. Needless to say there have been many changes since then! However the excellent care & access to Doctors & services have remained the same though now aided & abetted by technology & a much expanded practice. I felt compelled to write a review (my first) as what I have come to expect as standard everywhere, I find after discussions with family & friends this certainly is not always the case. I can get through on the telephone, I can see a Doctor on the same day if I need to, a Doctor will speak with me on the telephone if necessary & with some forethought & planning by myself I can see a Doctor of my choice. My children & grandchildren have all been patients & the continuity of us generally seeing the same Doctor has for us certainly made it a family practice. The Reception staff are helpful & obliging & there seems to be many other services available which I have fortunately not often needed. Sadly some Doctors have taken their well earned retirement. However, it seems those who replace them are imbued with the same ethos. In the light of the NHS being as stretched as it is, I think I am extremely fortunate to have access to such a practice, as what I have been considering as standard practise is, I think, possibly unique. So thank you. |
