I telephoned the surgery the morning after my husband had received care, via 111, for a medical emergency (fainting, and low blood oxygen levels). I needed information about safe blood oxygen levels in his particular circumstances, as his breathing is impaired anyway, and how long the antibiotics prescribed by the NHS emergency doctor would take to work. The receptionist told me she would get the Duty Doctor to ring me. I had a call from the Duty Doctor, who gave me the advice I required, and suggested that my husband could be seen there and then (he declined). Instead, an appointment was made for 2 days later, to give time for the antibiotics to work. In fact, my husband's health improved, which enabled us to cancel the appointment made. Very efficient helpful and prompt service. |

I was given a flu jab appointment 2 weeks ago, 15 minutes before my appt I was called by the receptionist informing me a doctor had told him to cancel my appointment as I was not in the vulnerable group. My understanding is that government guidelines have advised all over 50's to get the flu jab. I have been having the jab for the last 10 yrs and now that we are in a pandemic I was refused. |
