The week before last I booked an appointment for my 1 year old son who was seriously unwell in a way that caused me distress as a parent because I didn't know what was wrong with my child. I found the GP and after waiting on hold for about 15 to 20 minutes I was answered with "what do you want" I found this to be rude enough but I let it go because I needed to address the issue that was the fact that my son was unwell. Prior to asking what was wrong with him she asked for our address we moved recently to a house 2 minutes away from our old house and without allowing me to even speak she continued to speak over me repeating constantly 'you live much too far away for him to be seen much too far away much too far away' while I was trying to speak she continued speaking over me that she could that he can't be seen because he lives too far away and at this point I said to her why are you being so rude? Painful tight but I will be speaking to her manager as soon as I come in and at this point she changes her tone and offers my son an appointment. After this experience I am more than happy to find a new GP and doctor who treat their patients with care and respect and dignity especially when it comes to little ones who aren't well. I'm expecting a phone call from your management to discuss these events otherwise I will come back to your practice and speak to a manager in person myself. The treatment that I have received from the Woodberry Practice has been outstanding. The doctors (and the nurses and health visitors) are very knowledgeable and courteous. Well done to this Practice and to the NHS in general. | ||||||
