I had no experience as the phone system does not work. You listen to the introductory message 3 times, then it cuts you off. I have tried 5 times and this has happened every time. Do you want us all to go the surgery on foot to deal with you?? | ||||||

My mum who is in her 80s is a patient at the practice and has always been very happy with the care she has received both from the doctors and nurses. Last weekend I was shocked to discover that there is no out of hours service for the practice and you rely on 111 to cover this. For the elderly of which many of your patients on the coast will be this is not very easy for them to use. I tried to call on her behalf but they will only speak to me if I was with mum which I wasn't. She needed urgent medication Saturday morning to treat an infection. A call to 111 at 10.00am, then she had to wait for a doctor to call her back this was at 8pm!! resulted in mum having to drive in the dark to Sainsburys at 9pm to collect her medication. Everyone she spoke to was lovely but the delay in getting medication is not acceptable and relying on 111 doesn't work. | ||||||

I have a long history of complex medical issues that aren't going to get better. That said I am not keen on visiting doctors or hospital, probably because I have had a lifetime of appointments so I only make an appointment when absolutely necessary. As seems to be the norm these days you have to phone on the day to get a same day appointment which is the type of appointment I usually need when i do have to go. My husband has always managed to get me one but I assume that they are probably aware of my medical notes and know that I only make an appointment when absolutely essential. The staff at this surgery are always pleasant to deal with and do their very best to be helpful. | ||||||
