My elderly mother was not given treatment for anaemia until she recently changed her doctor at this practice. She has been anaemic for several years. | ||||||

Fortunately I do not often have to use the services of our surgery but today was the exception. I called to make an appointment and was within an hour talking to a doctor at Bradford on Avon who invited me to attend the surgery the same morning. As I suspected I needed treatment and possible follow up tests. The prescription is already in use and the first follow up tests booked. Not only is this an efficient service but one provided with quiet and professional guidance from all parts of the surgeries visited.
My only worry now is the proposed closure of St Damiens which seems short sighted in the extreme. Melksham is still growing and despite the apparent space in one surgery for extra patients the service appears stretched. Governments seem to think it is fine to build more houses, which leads to a growing population, whilst believing you do not have to increase the services that support them. Maybe the extra tax they gain is to be spent on what they consider worthy projects. | ||||||

I am newly registered at the practice and I am very pleased with the service I have had. The appointment system works very well. I have made appointments easily with the friendly receptionists.
