Would not recommend this surgery at all, been here 5 years was somewhat ok to begin with, although still waiting for issues to be sorted some from birth 5 years ago, any other surgery would of had this simple thing sorted.. the last few months has been horrendous with the receptionist laughing on multiple occasions when I’ve stated how low I am or hanging up the phone…they have 0 empathy or compassion.. the manager and Dr Scott are even worse.. I thought Dr ridge was ok until he agreed for me to be removed and I had also explain to him why I was so distressed and seemed to of understood I thought… The manger refuses to listen to Complaints |

Southover Medical Practice has provided me with excellent care for my various health conditions and the staff have always been most patient, courteous and helpful. They have also referred me to the relevant specialists where necessary. I fully recommend this practice. |

My family has been registered with this practice for over 15 years and we have seen massive improvement over the past few years.
It is much easier to get through on the phone for an appointment, particularly if you wait until after the mad rush at 8.30am. I can usually get through first time just after 9am and get a same day appointment at a time to suit me. Occasionally I have called in the afternoon and still been offered an emergency appointment that day at the end of surgery.
Several times in the past 3 months I have had to ring the surgery for non-urgent advice concerning a small child. When ringing the surgery and explaining that my query was non urgent, the reception staff have offered a telephone consultation and given me an accurate estimate of time when the GP will return my call.
The practice staff - not just clinical staff - have been very caring, supportive and empathetic during our recent family issues and gone out of their way to assist. Sometimes there has been a short wait when seeing a GP for a face to face consultation. I don't mind waiting a bit longer and the doctors are always very thorough so it's not surprising that 10 minute appointments over-run. Referrals to other services have been discussed, agreed and organised quite quickly.
I notice that a lift to the upper floor is being installed currently which will really make a positive difference for all patients who find the stairs a struggle as well as for pram-pushers and wheelchair users. It seems to me and my family that all of the staff at Southover work very hard to make it easy for patients to access great health care and I would highly recommend this practice. |
