I have been a patient at the Kingskerswell Health centre for 24 years. I came home from holiday last week and my friend had made an emergency appointment for me the morning I returned and I was seen by the Doctor the same afternoon. The Doctor examined me arranged for me to have urgent blood tests taken the same afternoon and arranged an urgent appointment for me to attend the outpatient department of Torbay Hospital Eye Clinic. My blood tests results were posted the same afternoon. All sorted now thanks to the Surgery’s professional and caring approach.
I would also like to thank the Doctor at the surgery for saving my life 6 years ago when the tests the Doctor organised for me at Torbay hospital confirmed that I had an aggressive prostate cancer. After surgery I have been clear of the cancer.
The Doctors at the Surgery are all excellent as are the Nursing staff Receptionists and back room staff. They all give a Professional and caring approach to their work.
They get a score of 10 out 10.
Many thanks
Kind regards

It is an absolute privilege and pleasure to place on record my sincere thanks and admiration - and also those of my wife - to the entire staff of this excellent Health Centre, for their kindness, attentive care and expertise. Last November, 2018, I became the unfortunate victim of a mental breakdown - the culmination of about 40 yrs of supressed trauma in my personal and profesional life. Although at this present time I am still on antidepressants (and will be for another 12 months or so), thanks, in particular, to the patient understanding and wonderful treatment from one male doctor (who was prepared to see me weekly in the early stages of my illness, and 'stuck' with me throughout), coupled with the friendly and caring attitude of the three 'resident' HCA's who carried out the various tests that needed to be carried out, I am well on the way to a sure and sound recovery. I cannot thank them enough for the way in which they have dealt with me.
In fact I am GREATLY indebted to EVERYONE at the Health Centre for the way they carry out their various duties. Most of them, of course, have had no idea what I have been going through for the past 6 months, but this hasn't mattered, because - as a very long-standing patient of this Health Centre - I have ALWAYS received such fantastic service from EVERY NHS staff member working at this Practice! Although I am a PPG member of this Health Centre, I make these genuine comments as an independant and grateful patient, and an admirer of all that has been achieved here. As a resident of Kingskerswell, but also as someone who enjoys quite wide contact with the Newton Abbot and Torbay area, I know how really well-regarded this Health Centre is, and I feel so lucky to be registered as a patient here.
I am a retired local Police Officer, and I know first-hand all about 'service to the public'. I spent 30 yrs of my life endeavouring to do this, and at times it is hard to carry out and seemingly unrewarded at times. However, this Health Centre - such a vital hub within the Kingskerswell community - provides a 'second to none' vocational service, and I feel so privileged to add these words of thanks to join the sentements of gratitude that must have been made before by so many other patients. This is a thank you letter for the quality of care i have received on
the occasions i have had to attend the Kingskerswell medical
practice.
Firstly a belated thank you to the doctor who i initially saw re: a
lower back and hip pain that was getting worse. His sympathetic manner
and referral eventually resulted in both my hips being diagnosed as
requiring replacement. I can happily report that now i am bionic and
for the first time in many years free of pain. This have really given
me a new lease of life.
Secondly: A thank you to another doctor whom i saw on Tuesday afternoon
re: a painful and gestated belly button and acid re flux to my throat
and mouth. After a careful examination she immediately referred me by
phone to the Hospital emergency unit. At the unit i was examined and
the following day i had an operation for a repair to Umbilical
Hernia. I am now at home recuperating.
Both the above are examples of the quality of care i have received
from the Doctors at Kingskerswell medical Practice and for the
subsequent care from all the staff i have come in contact with. I feel
very lucky to be able to access services at Kingskerswell as they are
of the highest standard.
Yours sincerely
