I just want to give a shout out to the amazing reception team at Derby road surgery. They are always so busy but always polite and very helpful. Due to ongoing health issues, I often have to call or speak to reception, they often go above and beyond to help and it is so reassuring. I appreciate them all and would like to thank them for their hard work. |

For a multitude of reasons I haven't been registered with a gp for the last couple of years. On enquiring at the Derby Road practice the receptionist on duty at the time was incredibly helpful and empathetic in helping me. She registered me immediately and got me an appointment within the next 30 minutes this was despite a sign mentioning a waiting list being in place for registration. The receptionist went above board to make sure my situation could be handled efficiently. During the appointment the doctor was incredibly kind and quickly prescribed treatment and organised tests and a follow up appointment. This is the best service I have received from a gp service in a long time and makes me feel more confident in accessing care in the future. |

I have been very pleasantly stunned today. I rang needing to speak to someone about an infection (recurring over many years). Receptionist was polite, helpful and understanding.
Got a same day appointment with the Nurse Practitioner. She understood the situation immediately and managed to get me booked into the Surgical Assessment Unit for tomorrow morning, then surgery the same day if deemed necessary! She was polite and efficient- explaining my situation succinctly to the surgical secretary.
Usually I just get antibiotics and a long wait for a consultants appointment- by which time the infection has cleared up again.
While waiting to speak to the surgical secretaries the NPractitioner booked an appointment for a smear as well.
As I waited for my appointment time I had started to book an appointment for my son. I was called in for my appointment so the receptionist held the details for when I came out. After I had been dealt with we then continued the process, for yet another same day appointment!
Even if this was a slow day- pre flu season maybe- the service was amazing from start to finish. Thank you SO much.
A very, very minor negative point- maybe change the call waiting music as it's loud and painfully pitched ?? |
