Mar 26 2022 Requiring the patient or carer to read 14 sides of contractual items on the spot during the initial assessment, immediately prior to signing, is unfair practice. Few people in that situation would take in every item. Even though I thought I had clarified the cancellation rules verbally with the assessor, this was apparently not the case and I was forced to pay out £100 when I cancelled, in fact postponed, due to realising that we did not yet need the care (in spite of the hospital setting it up). I was told that if I had waited another week, and let the care start, I would not have had to pay. This seems unacceptable.
