I spent 3 weeks here in May 2015. Everyone was very helpful, friendly and understanding. The help was great. I went for depression and child abuse and the staff were so understanding, they helped me get to groups when I didn't want to go by giving me coping strategies to deal with the anxiety of going. The rooms were very clean and cleaned regularly, the surrounding areas are beautiful, the food was if a very good standard and I could have my family in during very flexible visiting times. If my boyfriend came 10 minutes before the end of visiting times, they'd let him stay an extra 10 minutes so I saw him. This understanding and honesty are what helped me to get better. I don't have a bad word to say about The Priory. They've been brilliant to me.>

First acute mental health/psychotic episode in mid-life brought me as sectioned patient to this clinic out of my area. Despite some occasional misunderstandings with staff I was treated always with utmost kindness, positivity and care. The facility is new, well maintained and comfortable. Space on the ward for association and for privacy was very much valued by me. The grounds once leave is gained are delightful. Staff clearly did their best in terms of patient care although understaffing was an issue, especially at weekends. Therapeutic input was minimal sadly, for the same reason. I think also that occasionally during my stay patients with extreme needs were placed in this facility perhaps without consideration for the impact on staffing, rooming and space, and on other patients. The food was varied, delicious and of a high quality. I am grateful for the individual workers at all levels that I met there, the kindness received, the insight gained. Sadly it is too far for me to pop by and say my thanks again personally.
