My 81 year old father has just been moved here, unfortunately. He is unfortunate enough to have dementia, however, this is exacerbated by placed in a place where they opperate a barbaric visiting policy. Only two patents a week can have visitors and their times ar limited to 1.00 pm and 2.20pm. The excuse is Covid. Is Covid less prevelant at these times? Why would you restrict a frightened human being from seeing his or her family? Is this out of enjoyment I wonder? In the authorities seem to have forgotten the purpose of their jobs - to care for vulnerable adults - not deny them their basic human rights - to enjoy a family life. Covid is no longer a threat to life for those who are fully vacinitated so why does the CQC allow this? |

My mum was cared for on Ward 4 for 6 months following a diagnosis of Delirium After a bit of a bumpy start when trying to arrange visits this was soon resolved and the care provided was second to none. My mum used to look on it as her home Two nurses in particular took mum under their wing and were amazing with her. Mum loved them to bits. They went over and above their job roles with both mum and my brother and I and we cannot praise them enough. Carly and Nikki you are angels in the true sense of the word and we can never thank you enough. Carly even used to sing mums favourite song “my way” with her when giving her her shower xx Thank you to all the nursing staff and doctors and to everyone else involved in mums care Thankfully we were able to take mum out a day each at weekends which really helped with her mental health. We are so grateful for this. Mum was a really fussy eater and we were able to take food in for her that the staff would cook which at least got her to eat something. Sadly we lost mum suddenly in November and the support was still there afterwards. One of her fave nurses even attended her funeral which meant the world to us. So on behalf of mum and Peter and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making mums last few months bearable xx |

My Mum was in the Mount under a section 3 for 5 months. She is 86 years old 87 tomorrow. My first impressions when I arrived to visit Mum was to grab her and run. It's very difficult when your loved one is sick. She was in ward 2 which is an acute dementia ward. It's scary at first . Let my reassure anyone reading this that despite how it looks when you first go in, the care your loved one will receive will be outstanding. The whole team on this ward are quite simply angels in disguise. They treated my Mum with respect and dignity at all times. More than this they treated my Mum with great kindness, love and incredible patience. I also always felt that we Mum's family were also cared for by these amazing people. Nothing was too much trouble for Mum or indeed are selfs. They always took the time to fully explain what was happening at all times. I wish I could name you all. I wish you the very best in life. No one wants their loved one to be in a mental or indeed any hospital , however, if they have to be then this is the best. Thankyou all from the bottom of are hearts. Mum moved into a home where we hope she will spend her twilight years. Regards Julie Russell |
