I have had a high risk pregnancy and my experience at fetal medicine was amazing. However, when I reached the end of my second trimester and throughout my third trimester, I felt like everything went downhill. I have had to attend triage a number of times due to my waters breaking early. The wait to see a doctor lasts 4+ hours which is ridiculous. I was admitted to ward 1 on two occasions and the atmosphere was awful. I had to bring my own pillows from home and felt pressurised by several consultants to be induced when I have wanted a c section throughout my pregnancy. I think seeing a different consultant each day on the ward was not helpful as each consultant said something different to the last so I felt like I was a broken record, repeating myself. I also felt as though I was being rushed out so that a bed could free up for somebody else and I ended up being sent home to symptom watch which increased my anxiety. I am so disappointed in the service provided which has only made me feel so much more anxious about my c section and the after care that I’ll be receiving.

Several times Ive had really bad experiences with the person who deals with calls / bookings at the gynae department. Very very rude, inconsiderate unhelpful remarks made, talks over you. I felt awful after the call. Not nice when people are already suffering with health issues.. I dont know how this person has the heart to talk to people the way she does. It really needs to be looked into. No one should deal with a human like this let alone a patient
