I was advised to attend POW walk in by a health visitor as my doctors surgery closes at lunchtime on a Thursday due to training.
The Health Visitor listened to all the symptoms of my 16 weeks old baby and thought it best that we were seen quickly so suggested the closest walk in to us.
My daughter was struggling to get her breath and making sporadic noises like trying to gasp for air. I explained this to the receptionist upon arrival, who said 'so what shall I put down is wrong with her?' - I don't know is the worrying part!
We then waited for over an hour for everyone in front of us to be seen, including an adult man with a bruised finger....there could have been something extremely wrong with my baby and her breathing.
When I did see the nurse- they asked if the receptionist had informed me that there was no doctor on site so they could only take stats and I would need to go to another walk in or A & E!
I am disgusted that this level of care and attention was offered to my daughter.
Should I have a worry or incident in the future I will under no circumstances be going to Princess of Wales for medical assistance. Original Comment Report... |

Like another reviewer I was on Lickey Ward for stroke rehabilitation for 4 weeks in May this year. The staff were patient, caring, kind and respectful. Physio were marvellous and the food was good. When I went home the Stroke Unit provided excellent support. Am now going back for weekly physio. Cannot fault it.> Original Comment Report... |

I have visited PoW many many times for treatment and clinics and have always had the very best of treatment , My comments here though relate to the new parking arrangement .Apart from being very expensive the initial 20 mints is far to short a time. . I visited the hospital this morning got the very last Blue badge place next to the back door on the 1st flr.walked down to out patient reception in to eye clinic had a field test no waiting,, Back up to pay machine and that was £2 50 .I do not know the actual time that took but I do know I was back in my car with in 30 mints ( Blue badge clock) Then I got to the barrier and it would not lift..The person I spoke to on the call button said they could not see me there screen was blank and so it went on. 10 to 15 mints before a porter came and lifted the barrier and by that time there was quite a queue....Coming back to the initial 20 mints £2 50 that is a lot of money for some people and at least 30 mints should be allowed It would allow a quick ward visit or clinic visit like I made. This small change would help a lot of people , I leave you with that thought. Original Comment Report... |
