I attended endoscopy for a colonoscopy, feeling very anxious . I was met by a cheerful receptionist who was very pleasant. I sat and waited no more than 5 minutes before I was greeted by a nurse and shown to a room. The nurse was very efficient and explained everything to me and answered any questions I had. I was 2nd on the list. During my wait I was assured they hadn’t forgotten me and asked was I ok. At approximately 10:00 am I was met by a nurse who from theatre who walked me through to theatre. I wax met by a who were going to look after me whilst I had my procedure. The procedure itself seemed to last forever however one of the nurses held my hand and encouraged me to breathe through any pain. After the procedure I was taken to the recovery where I was met by a team of nurses who couldn’t do enough for me. I want to thank each and every one of you. I was only in the department from start to finish a relatively short time but you are all remarkable people, a wonderful team who made a worrying procedure a lot easier due to the care you showed me. Whilst writing this I have just had a follow up call from the department to see how I am today! I rest my case a very caring team. Thanks. |

My husband had an urology surgical procedure yesterday and stayed as an inpatient on ward 12. Every contact from clinician to anaesthetist to nurse to healthcare worker has been wonderful. A calm, caring, friendly and professional environment. Excellent- thank you. Highly recommended. |

I was admitted to the Solihull hospital in July for a Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy procedure. I was naturally apprehensive but from the moment I reached the reception area they made me feel very much at ease. The procedures were explained to me and they asked me if I had any questions (which I did) and during the examination I was kept informed as what would happen next. I didnt feel any embarrassment thanks to the assurance of the nurses. I might add there was very little pain. When I was discharged I was given a letter with all the information of what was found and what is going to happen in the future. The following morning I received a phone call from the department checking if I was alright and explained was is going to happen in the next few days and was given a direct phone number to ring if I had ANY concerns or questions. (very reassuring) Thanks to every person that looked after me. |
