My dad was in the hospital for rehabilitation recently. He was transferred from HRI and Withernsea was a welcome space after the pressurised busy, environment of HRI, he began his stay there in a 6 bed ward on his own (later it filled up) and was able to recooperate in a caring place. The staff were wonderful. I cannot speak highly enough of their care for him. The humour and banter made for enjoyable daily visits to see dad. And I saw how much dad enjoyed this. One of the benefits for him was being able to see the 'green' outdoors, hear the church bells and the seagulls. He had regular meals and was able to have regular baths in amazing bathing facilities. Now back home he misses that luxury. We await a bath lift for his bathroom at home, for when he is fit enough. Thank you to all who looked after and took the time to talk and laugh with him. Long may this lovely community hospital continue..> Original Comment Report... |
