My father was a patient for more than six months this year at the Boothroyd Unit. He was treated with respect and kindness. The staff are professional and extremely caring.
The daily activities provided at the unit are excellent and the person in charge of activities keeps the patients stimulated and interested every day appealing to a wide variety of interests. The activities also enable the patients to get to know each other and make friends.
It is a clean, professional environment with staff who are kind and caring. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff who deal with vulnerable people treating them with respect every day. My mum was admitted in the boothroyd unit due to her losing my dad in November 15 so suddenly to cancer. She has problem s anyway which all got too much, she od'd herself twice in two weeks due to grief and confusion. The staff there are so nice and understanding they take time to make sure ALL patients and visitors are safe and comfortable. They work very hard around the clock nothing is too much trouble for them. I would recommend this unit if needed to anyone in the same troubled state.
