Avoid like the plague! I'm not sure how this home can remain open. Removed my mum straight away. CQC report speaks volumes. |

Staff are awful with very poor management. No care nor kindness for the residents. Dirty home. When family members come in then things change and appear normal. Staff turnover is very quick, can't keep good Staff. I honestly would let me loved one stay here, not safe and the residents are not treated right. |

Our mother was admitted at the end of January on a "recuperation" basis as a means to be discharged from hospital and to recover further before possibly moving back home to be cared for there.
The staff have been very caring from the outset and we (the children) and more importantly Mum, have felt safe and well cared for there.
The cook/chef takes great care in preparing fresh food with local produce, and ensuring Mum's diabetic condition is accounted for.
We also like the way that the residents do take meals all together whenever possible which does create a good "vibe".
Mum has now decided that she would rather stay here and be cared for, than go home and have live in care, and we are very happy with the choice that she has made.
5 stars rating given as we would certainly recommend Oak Wood House to friends or family as a good service provider. |
