    Newbridge Hill, Bath

Newbridge Hill is a residential home without nursing. We provide 24hour care and support for 5 deaf men and women over the age of 18, with a wide range of support needs including learning disabilities, autistic spectrum disorder and mental ill health.

    What&s important to us?

    • Providing a service that is person-centred and focuses on what the people we support want and like
    • Encouraging a high level of independence
    • Being adaptable and flexible
    • Working hard, often in partnership with other professionals or agencies, to provide opportunities for the people we support
    • Ensuring that opportunities and fulfilment are not limited because people are deaf or have a hearing loss

Our main focus is to support people to develop their independence skills. The length of time& someone stays is determined by their individual needs and we are able to offer& a short or long term home that focuses on ensuring the people we support are able to become fully involved in their local community. Our ideal housemate will be fun and sociable and enjoy playing board games, gardening, eating together – at home and& restaurants, going to the pub and out on day trips, watching TV and films and going on holiday!

This is what CQC said about us at our last inspection:

We observed care workers and people using the service communicating using sign language. We saw that this was open and both people using the service and the care workers were relaxed and happy, we saw a lot of laughter. One person who lives at the service told us "I like living here and feel safe".

We also looked at three peoples care plans. We saw that all the information had been developed in easy read and pictures to ensure that each person could participate. A senior care worker told us that they used path goals. This is where they& explored what someone wanted to do and then& developed steps to assist the person to achieve this. One person told us "I wanted to go to the bank on my own; we talked about it and then made a plan."
