Originally a private residence, this residential and nursing home is set in three and a half acres of beautiful gardens in the village of Horton Kirby in Kent. > The care we offer The home comprises two separate buildings that provide specialised care and a comfortable and relaxing environment. Eglantine Villa offers a wide range of care from residential, convalescence and respite, to nursing care and palliative care. The home also caters for residents with Parkinsons disease and provides residential dementia care. & Food Residents can choose to eat in dining rooms overlooking the gardens or in their bedrooms. Our chef prepares balanced and nutritious meals taking into account the individual preferences and requirements of our residents. There is always a variety on offer and residents can opt for a full cooked meal or lighter alternatives as they wish. As well as our everyday menus, we make sure that on their birthdays each resident receives a birthday meal of their choice and a personalised birthday cake. & Activities We have an on-site activity co-ordinator who makes sure that theres always something enjoyable and stimulating to do, from games and musical movement to arts and crafts. Other popular activities include the annual garden fete or a simple game of bingo. In addition, two hairdressers offer regular appointments in the onsite salon. On warmer days, we try to arrange local outings to garden centres, the seaside and other attractions. Relatives and guests are always welcome to join us for activities or outings. We also hold a special event every month that celebrates or is themed around a notable occasion, such as Mothers Day or Bonfire night. We make sure that all residents can take part if they wish, and the events are specially adapted to suit all our residents. & |

After 4 months in hospital the sad day came when we knew our 84yr old mum would need to be placed in a nursing home as her frailty and nursing needs had become too great for us to be able to care for her at home any longer.
With trepidation and a heavy heart I set out visiting as many nursing homes as I could, talking to staff, picking up information and getting a feel for the homes.
Eglantine Villa stood out from the rest and I was impressed with so many things there. The excellent nursing staff, high standards are the norm here, the compassion and caring of all staff, so friendly, cheerful and helpful right across the board, to residents and family alike. Nothing is too much trouble, the staff are always so helpful. The home is so clean, airy, fresh and peaceful, the grounds are a tranquil beauty, with beautiful views and much wildlife (squirrels, rabbits, birds). The menus are varied and the quality of the food is a credit to the catering team.
It was hard to hand over mum's care to others but I have to say I have been so impressed by the competence and caring of all the staff at Eglantine and that has helped me enormously at such a difficult time.
The staff at Eglantine are always so friendly, cheerful and professional, high standards are always maintained but the most important thing to me is that they really do CARE for my mum. |
