Past employee- institutionalised care home that focuses on how the care appears to look to cqc rather than the care provided itself. There is no person centred care, I would strongly advise family members against moving in their loved ones. Managers especially the clinical lead openly drag residents out of bed before 8am regardless of their personal wishes for ‘their best interests’, when in reality it is to make the day staff’s morning job’s easier. Even being rude to the night staff that try and respect the residents’ wishes on what time they would like to be assisted out of bed and given personal care. I’m unaware how this home is rated good by cqc. |

This place is a horror. I cannot express enough not to enrol your nearest and dearest into this place. My father who is nearly 90 was hospitalised through sheer neglect with dangerously low blood sugar (he's diabetic).. plus very low blood pressure and severe dehydration.. He is still in hospital as I write this and its not looking good...They care not a jot about about personal hygiene or a person's dignity..He has been left sitting in his own mess and he was reeking of stale urine and shit..I questioned why is he in a state such as this....Only to be told a pack of lies and spoken to like I'm some kind idiot. I've had to take drastic measures and remove him from there dangerous practices. I have submitted a formal complaint with the CQC about his ordeal and want answers.. My father is in a very dangerous position because of his treatment in Elvaston lodge. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING PRACTICES. |
