Signature at Moorlands Lodge

My Mum has been in Moorlands for 4 years - she is one of the longest standing residents. There are so many positives - the privacy and individuality of the flatlets, the flexibility of nursing care, the concern all the staff have for residents, the quality of food and the general congeniality. There is a host of activity every day - musicians, talks, discussion groups, singing. Meals can be taken alone or, more commonly in the communal dining room. It would be hard to be lonely here! Great communication with families - they really get to know us. The only downside is that all this comes at a non inconsiderable cost!

My mother is very happy at Moorlands She was very distressed in her own home, and the staff were so patient in helping her to settle in. She is like a new person, socialising and enjoying being part of her new community. She has benefitted from just the right balance between being persuaded to join in and left to her devices when she wishes. Having her own apartment as opposed to one room ,which was the case everywhere else I looked, has ben wonderful. She has her own space, with a lovely view from her windows, and easy access to the garden whenever she wants. The staff have been very thoughtful and taking great trouble to ensure that Mum has as much freedom as she can, while staying safe. Food and housekeeping are exemplary, too. I wholeheartedly recommend Moorlands Lodge.
