Apr 18 2016 i would highly recommend the Lodge care home . the staff are wonderful and very kind not only to the residents but to the families as well . mum was diagnosed with late stage vascular dementia ! i was told by the hospital mum would not recover only get worse , she no longer fed herself or held her drink, she could not walk and rarely even opened her eyes but worst of all she did not know who i was , i was heartbroken . they moved mum to The Lodge just over 1 week ago and to my amazement mum is now walking , feeding herself, doing thumbs up and smiling and laughing freely she is trying to talk but best of all knows exactly who i am . The staff have been wonderful i cant thank them enough , they have brought my mum back , they give a very special kind of care at the Lodge they are Angels and i thank them with all my heart for the love and encouragement they have shown my mum . when i left the home on sunday mum waved me goodbye ! emotional is an understatement !
