Oakwood House

As a community mental health nurse with a service user in placment at Oakwood House i have witnessed excellant care and a patient and kind approach to service users. The manager and staff have worked tirelessly to support my serice user who has presented with some very challenging behaviour and really pushed boundries. Their approach has always been consistant and fair and that has really paid off for the service user. The service user has been able to develop a trusting relationship with staff and allowed them to support her through some very difficult times. The most important thing is that at no point did they even consider giving up on my service user. The environment is very calm and relaxed and feels very much like home. I would not hesitate to reccommend this placment to other service users.

I visited oakwood house last week to view the premises for a relative. The house is in a great location for travel and local businesses. Ilford shopping centre is full of high street shops and social outlets. Upon arrival at oakwood I was warmly welcomed by a friendly support worker who was expecting me. The carer was able to answer all of my questions and reassured me with any concerns I had. I had a look around the home and it is bright and spacious with modern fittings and neutral decor. It was a breath of fresh air to see such a well maintained house. The service users that were present upon my visit we're also friendly and chatty. I intend to return with my relative if he requires 24 hour care and I'm sure that he will as happy as I was.
