Excellent home, the manager and staff go the extra mile to make things right and treat each resident as an individual. Lovely rooms all ensuite and the food is very good too.
There are well laid out landscaped gardens which will be great to sit in the summer with plenty of shaded areas and tables with parasols. Its always a worrying time when you have to put someone into residential care but you need not worry here, I just see happy residents and caring staff. Highly recommended. |

Mum has been resident in Chadwell House for 7 weeks now and from a starting point of being very apprehensive and worried about what to expect we are delighted that the level of care is incredibly high. Nothing is too much trouble both for mum and also her visiting family and friends. Specifically points to note:
1. Basic care covering cleanliness and the issue of medication is spot on.
2. The layout of the building lends itself to ease of monitoring by the staff who are never far away.
3. Internal decoration of the communal areas gives a homely feel with no hint of an institutionalised approach.
4. Great emphasis is placed on a proactive use of time for the residents rather than a passive approach. Mum is encouraged to participate in communal activities in a suitably gentle way.
5. Creative thinking has gone into the layout of the external grounds with an eye to stimulate residents; chickens, rabbits, beech huts etc.
6. Staff seem to be well trained and know what are doing and have the right caring ideals.
7. Mum, who is a fussy eater, enjoys the food served up in the nicely decorated dining room and is already putting on some weight.
Although it is still early days we would have no hesitation in recommending Chadwell House to other elderly folk and their carers. |
