Lansdowne Road Care Home

At Lansdowne Road in Leicester, we support people aged 18 to 65 years old who have been diagnosed with a learning disability. We aim to provide a safe and homely environment where all individuals can make their own choices about the support they receive.

We do everything we can to improve the health and wellbeing of the individuals we support and as a team we are focused on building positive outcomes for everyone.

Lansdowne Road is separated into four areas, each offering different levels of support tailored to the varying needs of the individual. The people we support in both 67-69 and 71 Lansdowne Road live in separate houses and entrances, and everyone shares facilties.

Lansdowne Road promotes the Craegmoor communication strategy "Your Voice" which encouraged individuals, based on their preferred method of communication, to voice their views about the support they receive. Monthly meetings are held where individuals are able to represent the views and voices of others living at the service. This is extended to a voice at area, divisional and national level.

Whats it like to live at Lansdowne Road?

At Lansdowne Road there are a range of activities to get involved in, both in and out of the service. A typical day for people living here might include going to work, attending college classes, and/or going to day services. One to one and group activities are available. All individuals are encouraged and supported to assist with daily living skills.

Supporting greater independence

We strive to support people to gain greater independence. We do this through continual assessment alongside the community learning disability team, which includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech and language therapists.
