My wife was discharged to Augusta Court from hospital There are some caring and encouraging staff here ,but the pettiness of rules seem to interfere with consistency .I visit my wife at lunchtime at Augusta’s request .I have asked for other times but told none are available .During my latest visit Barbara needed the toilet The call buzzer was pushed and was responded in about five minutes .She was told she would have to wait another 10 minutes before being helped to the toilet ,”because it was lunchtime “ A strange set of priorities. My wife has divaticular disease and as such her toileting needs are often urgent. She has had at least two accidents during her stay caused by lack of response to her needs. The whole place is run by a culture of petty inconsistent rules rather than a priority of individual care. My own experience of visiting my wife has been met with hostile staff giving me the impression that I am interfering with this routine.
