My Husband has been resident in Dovedale Court for 2 weeks now, and seems to be settling in well. He was transferred from the Harbour hospital in Blackpool where he'd been for the last 6 months, and we were expecting the 1st 2 weeks to be very difficult for him, getting used to the new routine, faces and surroundings.
But the staff are all very patient, caring and efficient. The atmosphere in Dovedale is calm, homely, and he is much less aggressive and angry. Of course he still has his moments but the staff deal with him very well.
His room is very nice and I was worried he would wreck it but the manager put my mind at ease, assuring me that all I had to do was enjoy my time with my husband and let them worry about any damage etc!
So I have no hesitation in recommending Dovedale and hope my Husband continues to settle. |

My Mum went into Dovedale Court a year ago, and she is happy and comfortable. I have spent many an hour with Mum at Dovedale and have always found the personnel recalling loving and careful towards the clients. They look after them as they would their own parents. You can't expect better than that! |

After searching for months to find a placement for mum I was recommended Dovedale . I visited and was very impressed and the manager assured me that mum whom has been on One 2 One care for the past 6 months would not need one to one there because such high levels of staff she would never be out of sight at any time from a member of staff .
I felt so relieved and assured that at last I've found a what pleated on visiting a very clean friendly safe place with the adequate care mum required .
I believe we were totally mislead mum had only been there 3 days before she was left alone not in anyone's sight line as promised and has substation a very very serious injury , she no longer resides at dovedale the attitude on how lightly they have comment on mums injury made my decision for me.
I cannot comment on the food or activities ect at the home but I can comment on safety and this is seriously inadequate Reply from Barchester Dovedale Court Care Home Fri, 12 May 2017 10:43:05 +0100 Thank you for your review, we take issues of this nature very seriously.
