    60 Residential Dementia Care Places

Waterside House is a safe and caring home for people living with dementia. It was opened to residents in 2005 as a partnership between MHA, the local Primary Care Trust and Wolverhampton social services, and supported by a generous donation from the John Ward Trust. Situated at the end of a quiet road within a mile of the Wednesfield shopping centre, Waterside House is part of an integrated care community that also includes MHA&s Bridge Court, a complex of modern retirement living apartments.

Waterside is made up of four wings, each with en suite bedrooms, a choice of lounges, a dining area and kitchenette. Residents also have access to a large enclosed garden area to the rear of the home.

my relative has been at this location for a while now. the staff are patient and kind but there is no stimulation for the residents whatsoever. the staff attend to the washing, dressing and feeding of the residents but there is an appalling lack of emotional care. I have no experience of care for the elderly but if this is all there is then I worry for todays residents and those who will follow. the only activity my relative has been a party to is praising the lord services where the residents are wheeled out and are a captive audience. my relative is non- religious.
