I have been going to this surgery on behalf of a family member. Staff are uncaring, made u feel like your too much trouble, don't answer the telephones when it suits them, talk down to u. Dispensary is a joke. Taking way too long to make up prescriptions despite having them a week and then making u wait 30 min or more. Often telling u to cone back 3 hrs later when they've had it a week already. It's the only Dispensary in the village for god sake so why would I want to take a paper prescription to another chemist. Attitude stinks. These people really want new staff, better training and learn how to talk to patients better. Utterly disgusting. Thank god my family member has now moved away. Can't comment about the Doctors . |

I have tried to call the surgery at various time throughout the day on 3 separate occasions and each call was put on hold for over 40mins each time. Whilst this is poor in itself, the call NEVER got through or got answered. I then drove to the surgery to make an appointment at 9am which I was offered there and then an appointment for 9:45 that very day. Having waited patiently in the waiting room reading all forms of communication (including one that says if you arrive more than 15 late for your appointment you WILL NOT be seen) I had to leave as I had work. I left the surgery at 10:40am almost an hour later than my planned appointment which never took place. Sadly to say I will now have to go through the whole process of trying to contact the reception to make a new appointment which undoubtedly will mean another string of unanswered call. The patient response time for the reception/call is terrible at best. If the practise acknowledged this and addressed it as a real concern it would greatly improve the service and feedback. |

This Surgery is appalling, on every level. I have never been treated so terribly. From problems with repeat prescriptions, condescending reception staff to downright nastiness from two of the partners when I have been at my sickest. One partner sounded like she was eating during our telephone appointment! She spoke with absolute indifference and with a monosyllabic rude, cold and detached attitude. Another spent the majority of my phone appointment telling me I couldn't possibly have Covid. Instead of listening and believing and helping (I was dismissed because it was in the first wave so I was one of the first to get it). I suggest you record your calls if you have a telephone appointment and let them know you are recording it so they might actually treat you like a human being. Medication reviews are a joke. They don't give a damn about you as a patient - one honest doc actually told me they have to do the med review in case I take one of my meds, then drive and kill someone! They need to cover themselves legally by doing a six-monthly review! Then they spend half the appt shaming you for taking medication that they themselves prescribed years ago! All they seem to care about is being sued, they run it like a business - it's not about duty of care to patients anymore. My specialist asked for them to put a medication on repeat and, for whatever legal reason, they refused. Didnt bother to tell me though. I had to call in to ask about it. One doctor cut me off at exactly 10 minutes. She said she couldn't answer my last question because time was up and I had to make another appointment. I know there are time limitations, but there used to be a bit of discretion about this as some patients need longer and some only need 5 minutes for something simple. It's utterly ridiculous. The rate they are going, someone will sue them or make a serious complaint because of their mistreatment. Ouse Valley, you REALLY need to do better. |
