Like every surgery it can be hard to book a routine appointment but I've found the online booking to be very useful (please open more slots though). On the whole I've always got an on the day appointment when it was really needed, after a few calls, or in some cases a Doctors phone call instead (which made an urgent issue less urgent) - being honest with the reception does help with this.
The new surgery building is really nice and parking is so easy which takes away the stress of visiting.
My main Doctor and a newer Doctor have been particularly supportive and treat my issues & concerns with useful advice and referrals. Sadly, like in most of the Healthcare profession, some Doctors have been less helpful and dismissed my issues as weight related rather than trying to resolve the problem at hand (to the point where I begged for a referral after lack of treatment lead to further injury).
Fortunately I know now which Doctor's are supportive - I will only deal with them and they have been able to progress my treatment. |

Depending on mood, reception may or may not issue a repeat prescription. It can take 40 minutes to get through by phone. Oversubscribed. Reply from The Maytrees Practice Tue, 06 Feb 2018 17:20:19 Z We were disappointed to see this comment and it would have helped if the correspondent had reported their annoyance. However, we do apologise for the service we have provided in this instance. We will look at our Repeat Prescribing process to ensure there is a uniform approach - this looks like a training issue. Repeat prescriptions take 48 hours to process and requests need to be posted or handed in because of the potential risk of mistakes when details are taken over the telephone. If the correspondent is willing to advise when they tried to get through on the telephone we will look to see what the reasons were for your wait. 40 minutes is too long and whilst telephone traffic is very heavy, particularly in the morning, we accept that your experience is unacceptable. Again we apologise. |
