I have always found the surgery staff to be efficient but I have had very little illness in the last 10 years. However, when I lost a stone in weight in about a month they had failed to discover that I had developed giardiasis. I had been given a blood test and nothing detrimental showed up. However had I been asked for a stool test at the same time it would have been discovered immediately. But when I did see a nurse ha I g lost almost a stone the doctor was ‘on it’ instantly, gave the right meds. He has since always recommended I take the dose with me when on holiday ever since. I have not had a recurrence. Also when I need advice on injections for travelling abroad the nurse is very helpful.

This surgery is busy but some of the doctors have attitude problems and almost clock watch as you are talking to them. It is a shame as it used to be better but I think they have too many patients to handle and the service has deteriorated.
If there was another doctors surgery in ashburton I would move in a heartbeat. Avoid if you can as you are very unlikely to get an appointment that suits you if you work. |

Good Afternoon,
I would like to pass on my thanks for all the hard work all members of staff do at your surgery.
We moved to you just over a year ago and can I say, that by far, you are the best GP service I have had the pleasure of being treated by. I have quite complex issues but it is never an issue with any of you.
It started on day one. We had our introductory assessment/meeting with one particular doctor which required me to have a blood test. I went to arrange a reception and had an appointment 2 hours later!!! The usual response from other surgeries is, urg, you will have to wait 2 or 3 weeks. I never have an issue making an appointment's and have even been slotted in when there are no appointments available. This is unheard of in my experience.
This particular doctor is my regular GP and I have seen him regularly due to my condition. He always has time to listen to me. Nothing is too much trouble and when referral are needed he is very prompt at arranging this. I also see another staff member for regular blood tests. She always have a smile on her face, is friendly and always willing to help and support.
I have had a number of episodes at the surgery and even has an ambulance attend on one occasion. All of the staff rallied around and ensured I was comfortable and were very attentive.
All of my face to face with receptionists are always a pleasure. A smile and approachable. Never tut or role of the eyes. This includes one particular staff member, who has now moved on. He knows everybody by name, even first names and was our first point of contact on day one.
I cannot thank each and everyone enough for the help and support they have, and continue to provide. It is a pleasure in difficult times and you should all be very proud of the service you all provide.
People are quick enough to criticise but very slow to praise, but this is the same in all walks of life.
I would ask that you do share this feedback with all staff, any focus or patient groups and any NHS forum that would benefit from this.
Very, very Kind regards. |
