When I first moved to the area and registered, it was the best surgery I'd ever been to and I couldn't speak highly enough of all of the staff; sadly the best have gone and in 2023 it is a shadow of the practice it once was. Dismissive clinicians who couldn't care less. If you want a drug, without being advised first on a healthy lifestyle or exploring alternative options, welcome to Pharma heaven. GPs prescribing their way to a 20% rise in pay, at the cost of your health. |

I went on-line to check the surgery address and was amazed to see that nobody had yet rated this surgery. Since my move to this surgery about 6 years ago, I have been impressed by all the staff have had dealings with over the years. They have often gone 'that extra mile' in my care - one GP rang around the local pharmacies until they found one offering the right dose of heparin to save me the trouble when I had a post op DVT (and this was a last add-on Friday evening appointment). Recently, I had second GP appointment the same day as a same day emergency appointment because I had concerns about possible side effects of a prescribed medication, something I would have never would have believed would have happened anywhere. Generally I have always had appointments that have met my needs, planning ahead, for example, when I've wanted a female GP or, in case of immediate concern the same day with either a nurse or GP. I have found all the staff have been prepared to listen, to admit if they need to find out more and to share possible treatment options with me. All the staff, from receptionist to phlebotomists have always been helpful and respectful, even when I went through a period of forgetting and muddling appointments and had to keep ringing up to check. Last week, at my work-place, someone shouted out 'Oh look it's the doctor,' and there was a generalised excitement, because they were there - they had in fact come to see a care-manager with the practice management, but the fact that they both came into our room and gave time to see what people were making and the joy people had in sharing with them made me realise that it's not just me who has positive experiences with the Blakeney GP surgery. |
