I rang up yesterday (6/3/19) to book an appointment after speaking to a nurse whom I work with. She told me I needed to get an appointment for the afternoon as it was fairly urgent and causing me a lot of pain. After asking for the appointment this receptionist insisted she needed to know what the problem was and would not be taking 'personal' as a reason. I did not wish to disclose the information, as I told her many times, because I find the issue embarrassing but the receptionist told me I would not be getting an appointment if I did not tell her. After forcing my personal problem out of me she told me 'this is not a medical emergency' and to ring up at 8 am in the morning to get an appointment and I would definitely get one.
I rang up first thing this morning and had the same issue. Yet again I was sent away as they have decided to close early and I was not given a reason for this. I am not happy with the response and 'care' that I have received!
A few years ago, I visited the doctor as I had many family problems going and thought I had depression and I needed help. As I was a teenager, I was sent away by the doctor as she said that I need to "just talk to a teacher". This is not the support I needed. Mental health is a big issue and no one gets the care they need.
I have been a patient at this surgery since I was little and they are deteriorating and provide no sort of care. I am not the sort of person to want to go to the doctor and I always avoid going if I can help it. This surgery has pushed me aside too many times. |

I visited the surgery 6th June 2018 suffering from an asthma attack. I have done so many times before. I asked to see a doctor due to this, I was met with the reaction of No this is not a walk in centre. Then asked if it was an emergency! The receptionist did not even ask my name, had she of done she would have realised my history and possibly thought better of turning me away and subsequently me ending up with a 999 call to A & E. I have been a patient of this surgery since 2004 and have nothing but praise to date. Especially with one particular staff member who always shows genuine concern and helpfulness. One particular doctor is also lovely. In the past the receptionist have never been a problem either they have always been aware of my history and always been willing to assist where they can. I am sure all of the receptionists are aware that Asthma is a genuine on going condition, and with some of us we can deteriorate very quickly. I am more saddened by what happened yesterday then angry, as now I fear for the future. |

Wednesday early finish 12pm
I got to the surgery at 11:58 along with another person who arrived a few moments before me.
We were extremely surprised to find the door ALREADY locked.
My phone and watch(Apple) so exactly shows the right time said 11:58
I waited outside and at 12;01 staff came out stating they had definitely not locked up early.
This is a lie and I would expect the opening hours especially on a short day to at least be kept.
To compound it instead of asking if they could help they all just got into their cars
As a HCP myself I found the whole episode to demonstrate all the worst aspects of what should be a public focussed service.
